What’s new on Scorpion. Platform update — May 2026
We’ve done a lot of work to improve the site. Here’s what’s changed.
Tournaments
Rating on the participants page. On the “Tournament participants” page, you can now see which rating is used in the tournament — World Ranking, Scorpion World Ranking, or the Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast Ranking. Previously, you had to look up this information separately.
You are registered. In the tournament list, rows for tournaments you’ve signed up for are now highlighted in color. Hovering over them shows a tooltip saying “You are registered for this tournament” — so you can quickly see which ones you’re attending.
Player profile
World Ranking position. In the player profile, next to their World Ranking points, you’ll now see their position in the ranking — no need to visit another site to find out where they stand.
Player’s teams. The profile now shows which teams the player currently belongs to and which teams they’ve played for in the past, with links to the team pages. If the player is not a member of any team, that information is also clearly stated.
New design
We’ve updated the look of the site. Key changes:
-
Modern colors, fonts, and spacing — the site looks cleaner
-
Mobile devices — the site now displays properly on phones: tables scroll horizontally, the menu collapses into a burger button
-
Language selection on mobile is now a convenient dropdown
-
The left menu on mobile opens via a button in the header — no longer taking up screen space
The new design is currently being tested. If you see a “Retro” button in the top corner, you can switch back to the old look at any time — and return just as easily.
Languages
The site now speaks other languages much better. The Ukrainian, German, Swedish, and Latvian translations have been significantly expanded. All main sections — tournaments, stages, matches, rankings, player profiles, teams — are now translated into all supported languages.
Fixes and improvements
In addition to new features, we’ve fixed several technical issues.
Participant ratings when changing the rating type. If an organizer changed the rating type in tournament settings after players had already registered, some players kept the old rating type while new participants got the updated one — leading to a mess in the participants list. Now, when the rating type is changed, the system automatically recalculates points for all registered participants.
Work continues. If you notice anything that isn’t working as it should, please write to the administrator.
